Ceramic dental crowns in Croatia
Beautiful white teeth create a bright smile. A smile is comprised of the visible part of the teeth i.e. dental crown. The outer layer of the dental crown is covered with enamel, which is translucent. Enamel is the one that gives us our bright smile!
When a dental crown is lost due to trauma or disease, dental arch is interrupted and our smile is not as beautiful as before. The person will instinctively smile less, become more insecure, and generally be more and more in a bad mood. The loss of a dental crown can have more serious consequences when general oral health of the patient is in question. Interrupted dental arch leaves space between the teeth, which will consequently lead to tooth bone deterioration, gum recession and collapsing of neighboring teeth. Such development can lead to irregular bite as well as speech difficulties.
All ceramic crowns are a high-end solution for restoring lost natural crowns because of its excellent functional and aesthetic properties.
In order to recover the functional and aesthetic value of the teeth, it is very important to reconstruct the gap between the teeth. Modern dentistry has been enabling us to restore interrupted dental arch with artificial crowns for years. Materials have evolved during the years so today we have artificial dental crowns almost identical to natural teeth by shape, solidity, durability and aesthetic values. In comparison to crowns made in combination with precious metal alloys, all-ceramic crowns have a number of advantages especially aesthetic ones.
When making prosthetic works we use high-end materials, zirconium and e.max ceramics. All our prosthetic works have a 5-year warranty.
When we talk about ceramic crowns and materials for their production, we first think of zirconia and IPS e.max® ceramics. Although both materials have very similar characteristics, there are certain differences between them.
- Zirconia - material of great strength suitable for placement in any jaw region. Does not provoke allergic reactions, is very translucent and gives excellent results regardless if it is being placed on prepared natural tooth or an implant. This material is biocompatible and is very well accepted by the body, and gums connect perfectly to the crown.
- IPS e.max® ceramics - has very similar properties as zirconia. We mostly use it in frontal region of oral cavity. The material is biocompatible, does not cause allergic reactions, is very solid and translucent, which makes it ideal when placed on prepared natural tooth.
With metal base crowns there is always the possibility of gum recession and revelation of the metal alloy, and the light won't go through it as it goes through the natural tooth. When seeking a long-term solution with maximum aesthetic values, all-ceramic crowns are certainly the best solution.
